At Vilmorin-Mikado, diversity and inclusion are a core principle and a driver of progress. Recent certifications and index results in our two headquarters in France and Japan highlight our ongoing commitment to fostering equality, well-being, and fair opportunities in the workplace.
These recognitions underline the concrete progress we continue to make toward an inclusive company culture.

Strong Performance in France

In France, Vilmorin-Mikado achieved an excellent Gender Equality Index score of 94 out of 100 for 2025. This index measures key indicators such as pay gaps, promotion rates, and salary increases after maternity leave.

Gender equality is a cornerstone of our Diversity and Inclusion policy. We are committed to maintaining this momentum and working closely with social partners to identify new areas for progress.

Prestigious Certifications in Japan

In 2024 - 2025, our Japanese teams earned two prestigious certifications that reflect our commitment to creating a fair and supportive workplace:

L – boshi Certification (3 stars)
Introduced by the Japanese government, L - boshi recognizes companies that actively promote gender equality across five key criteria: employment, retention, working hours and styles, management representation, and career diversity.
For the first time, Vilmorin-Mikado Japan applied and proudly obtained 2nd highest rank in the L – Boshi certification (out of 4) — a significant milestone! Our next goal? Platinum Eruboshi, the highest level, by continuing to strengthen our practices.
Kurumin Certification
In September 2025, Vilmorin-Mikado Japan received the Kurumin certification from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This distinction is awarded to companies that actively support employees in balancing work and child-rearing. We have implemented measures such as promoting childcare leave, reducing overtime, and creating a family-friendly environment. And we are not stopping there – we will keep innovating to make work-life balance a reality for all.
